This blog is a place for me to make quick, spontaneous entries; the point is to give you beads, not boulders. The only thing beady about it is the little pearls you can collect to make the jewel-piece that is me!! (haha, I'm not really that vain!)MonaRaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02579612726117732916noreply@blogger.comBlogger16125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-708754160735745951.post-21717736898751406452011-04-14T11:15:00.000-07:002011-04-14T11:25:29.894-07:00I Need....
This is a request to the Universe; I need...
1) to pay my phone bill $63
2) to pay GRC522 for the ring on hold for me $132

3) to pay for the rest of my car repair so that once again I can roll my window up and down $150
4) to pay my brother back $120 now $700 later
5) to pay my son back $40
6) to buy my son's yearbook $25
7) to pay for my son's graduation fees $125

Not too much when you think about it; make me a way Universe!

Speaking of need, Real Growth asks if I ...
1) I'm ready to experience joy today; Yes!
2) I know how the way I handle money speaks about me; I know it says something, but I can't hear what it is saying!
3) I need tips on how to increase the passion between me and my partner; not until I have a partner who wants to be passionate about and with me!
4) I know that what I am thinking may be effecting my health; my health is Universe, Joy, Passion, Partnership, Money, Hung Over, and being in love with my friends!

Have faith! Be passionate! Listen to the Universe calling in your life; it is telling me that I have more to give others than the needs I perceive for myself.
The featured artist is Soon Y. Warren. I love watercolor paintings that are rich in color, and not easily identified by medium. The magazine features an interview and student demonstration of her watercolor work, which is AMAZING. You will agree when you see it, especially when you see the crystal bowls that look so real!
I like what I like and that is enough for me; I don't need to be a connoisseur. I always heard that artists don't become famous until they have died, but when I discovered Ian Ingram I knew that rumor was soooooo untrue!

I worked all day on listing jewelry in my shop, new beads, reduced prices on last month's beads, and more. All of a sudden life is so busy, so full of ideas, but I'm too tired all the time (doc is taking blood tomorrow to check it out.)

Gonna repair a computer tomorrow, work on my paper, work on research for a homeschool-school, go to guitar lessons for Isaac, then make dinner and run a pool tournament!
I'll be seeing you with some beads of thought soon, but probably not tomorrow!
MonaRaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02579612726117732916noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-708754160735745951.post-16958351244949705322011-03-31T07:57:00.000-07:002011-03-31T07:57:49.726-07:00A Square is not Square

I received the Astronomy Picture of the Day from my son's father. Karen Halloran stepped right up and took it all in three guesses. The movie was The Ten, a hilarious indie that I will definitely watch again!

Not only am I giving her a special bead, hand made by me especially for her, I'm going to make it into a big phat ring for her too!

Today's movie theme is art.

But, this blog is not always about movies. I just happen to be watching a lot of them lately cuz of the snow; would you rather I write about the snow? Believe me, you don't!
MonaRaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02579612726117732916noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-708754160735745951.post-10471060364658121402011-03-25T12:06:00.000-07:002011-03-25T12:06:18.331-07:00Guess and Win Part 5
last run
23. Why does the prison love scene bother me? There isn't much to say about it other than it is surprisingly good.

24. I didn't know that "all's well that ends well" was Shakespear!

25. We're half way through; I'll let you watch the rest on your own.
Good luck!
15. Have you ever taken "spell it out for you" literally? That could be fun, unless you were spelling Arnold Swartzenegger.

16. If your mom could lie to you about your "real father", who would you want it to be?

17. Would you say Arsenio Hall is the "same difference" as Eddie Murphy?

18. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's cat scan machine.

19. How does having your own cat scan machine make you a hero? Does it make you wanna slap someone up-side the head?

20. Why is it funny when two guys groove to a "girl" song? and even funnier when they know the words?

21. Is a cat scan machine describable as a "life saving device"?

22. Why is it inappropriate to "go fly a kite"?

10. If you had a chance at your own personal "second coming of Christ", would you take it? (no offense intended)

11. Do you think the narrator REALLY met a girl at Starbucks, made jokes about the coffee cup holders, took her out to his car, and had sex with her?!

3. Gretchen, the wife, was played by an actess who also played a transsexual named Eva

4. Have you ever put your name in a school text or library book (you know the little chart in the front that says "this book belongs to...") that wasn't your name...you know, like, "Dick Inyerhole"?

5. Why is Tony on his knees?

6. Is there something wrong with hiring a rickshaw walker (on foot) with only one leg, who has to hop your rickshaw from one rural town to another?!

7. Is a hot guy in the US, a hot guy south of the border?

8. Was the allusion that he could walk on water, like Jesus, or was it about not really needing a boat?

9. Damn, I have to rewind the movie now; this whole part is in Spanish and I can't type and read the subtitles at the same time!

You can check out my work by clicking the Mona Rae Beads link above.

On with the clues:

1. This is so SNL or Mad TV! I love it!
2. I see two sins in the first one

I'll post this and continue giving clues in new posts until the movie is over.
Is it about love? Is it about what happens when you repress your feelings? Is it about what happens when you are the only boy among 8 siblings? Is it about deceit? If it is about deceit I get how it applies to making a phone call to "chat" with a girl, but what are Barry's sisters deceiving him about? And if it is about deceit, is it really about how deep efforts to deceive can run?

The only reason I'm continuing to watch Punch Drunk Love is because I have high expectations of anything Adam Sandler does. I feel deceived.
MonaRaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02579612726117732916noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-708754160735745951.post-15733779630203152012011-03-24T09:09:00.000-07:002011-03-24T09:41:14.291-07:00Men are Hideous...
But so are women, as shown by Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. Not a documentary, but a movie about a documentary. I love it!

I love the two guys who play "the mind" in the background, or at least that is my interpretation of their role. They make me wonder if they are right; the things they say sound so right.

It is about love...God, is there a theme today? Love and Documentary?

I also love the pervert guy, well maybe he's not really a perv, but I think he is really every guy, and the most honest guy.

I just know the guy who "has it all figured out" is going to say that the real secret is to let the woman serve the man!

The part I don't get is the part where the protagonist reminisces. Maybe because I identify; maybe because it is my fear to be there.

Awesome movie full of great words; the kind of movie you want to quote. It is as truthful about men as it is about women (which is the saving grace that keeps this movie what it is for BOTH sexes.)

"Deep down they want a man whose gonna be so passionate, so powerful, that they have no choice; this thing is bigger than both of them." So true; but not necessarily comfortable and perfect when you have it. When you have that, like when you were 15, as an adult you realize what a drug that is. To be taken, to be out of control, to want more; it is just as uncomfortable as having to rationalize and decide what to do and how to figure it out...what is the basis of that decision.

That guy, "the honest guy", the "every time" guy, is GOOOOOOOD (and so evil). He's the guy I think every guy really is; the guy I'm afraid of because I want what he is and says to be real and not just a game.

Oh, I could just keep this window open and provide commentary through the whole thing, but the point of this blog was to give you beads....not boulders!
MonaRaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02579612726117732916noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-708754160735745951.post-80474795826784508392011-03-24T08:32:00.000-07:002011-03-24T08:32:17.517-07:00Is This Love...
No; not the Whitesnake kind, the Pugach kind.

Crazy Love, a documentary by Dan Klores about "an obsessive relationship gone awry in the 1950s", is not as creepy as described by some, but indeed it is something else...what, I'm not sure. The movie leaves me asking...is this love? Really? Strange.
MonaRaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02579612726117732916noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-708754160735745951.post-77284891843963422532011-03-24T07:14:00.000-07:002011-03-25T12:14:41.684-07:00Beads of Thought
I thought of this phrase quite some time ago; it sticks to me as somewhat familiar.

Documentaries; love em'. Love Netflix! It gives me access to great film making and lost stories.

Woke up at 4:00 a.m. Watched the final epi of the TV show Pushing Daisies (fabulous cinematography!). Watched a documentary about Aileen Warnos; the only thing I knew of her was that Jessica Lang got huge props for being able to look ugly when she played Aileen in a movie. What an amazing piece of history the documentary is. What a tragedy. That woman was clearly NOT mentally competent, but her paranoid schizophrenia as such that she believed every version of her story. But of one thing she was perfectly coherent; the media killed her and society carried out its sentence. I have no desire to see the Hollywood version.
MonaRaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02579612726117732916noreply@blogger.com0
